Privacy Policy

We collect minimal information necessary to deliver our services: • GitHub Profile Data: GitHub Username, Display Name, Avatar URL, and primary email via secure OAuth scope (read:user, user:email, gist). • User Generated Content: Source code files, snippet descriptions, categories/tags, comments, and profile bio. • Technical & Usage Metrics: Snippet star counts, view counts, clone/copy frequency, and developer badge milestones. • Local Storage: Language preference (EN/ID) and preferred syntax themes. We NEVER store plain-text passwords or financial payment information.

• Password-Protected Snippets: Passwords assigned to lock private snippets are hashed using cryptographic SHA-256 and verified strictly on the server before content delivery. • Secret Links: Unlisted snippets are accessible solely via their unique cryptographically random URL. • Infrastructure Security: Data is persisted on Supabase PostgreSQL with strict Row Level Security (RLS) policies ensuring users can only modify their own snippets.

When you use the Gist Sync feature, requests are authenticated using scoped GitHub tokens directly to the official GitHub API. We do not inspect, retain, or store private repository code outside of the snippets you explicitly import or sync.

Gistify is built for developers. We do NOT use invasive advertising trackers, ad networks, or sell user profiling data to third-party brokers. Your code belongs strictly to you.

You have complete sovereignty over your data. You may delete individual snippets, unlink your GitHub account, or request complete account erasure at any time directly through the platform or by contacting @Muh4r / GitHub @kyiov.
